In context of Commonwealth games that will be happening in india not only delhi is affecting but its neighbouting towns are also not untouched. They also have started reforming and tightning their securities. Example is Faridabad who has tightened securities checks in PCO, Auto-Taxi stands, Cyber Cafes and such social places. Deputy Commissioner, Faridabad Mr. Praveen Kumar to Hindustan Times when asked "
Faridabad informed me that most of the cyber-cafĂ© and PCO owners in Faridabad were not keeping records of their customers,”
Likewise in another order by the Police the administration has forcefully asked the landlord to get their tenants verified. In lieu of this the police is searching such houses where the tenants are.

Extension of Commonwealth Games Deadline
Once again Delhi government has extended deadline for Commonwealth Games Preparation in Delhi as usual. But this time it seems to be firm. The Chief Minister Mrs. Shiela Dikshit seems to be very angry on the slow speed of its preparations. She has instructed Engineers to rectify all the pitfalls or drawback where ever they find. They have asked to carry such vehicles along with labours so that they can fill any pits if found on the road. The benefits of such vehicles is that if they find any breakage on road then that could be corrected
The main aim of Goverment is to show Delhi Green and Beautiful. It is a news also that many hostels have been asked to vacate during the time the games will happen in the city. This is to provide rooms for the stay. Along with this many schools and offices will also remain closed. Don't know what impact it will have on the economy and the studies but this will happen. Shiela Dixit has pleased goverment employees by saying that if everything goes well and commonwealth games happen without any disturbances then they all will be given one month salay free.
Lets see what happens this time. We just pray that these commonwealth games happen peacefully and successfully in india so that we can also feel proud be a part of such a world level event.

Most of the deadlines are missed.....but the Federation is still happy...
Not a long before when the Commonwealth Games Federation who organizes Commonwealth games through out the world was seeing very unhappy with the developement and progress for the games that will be talking place in india this year 2010. They were quite uncertain with the pace the development were being made. But now the scene is different. A lot more progress has been taken place and seeing that the Federation seems to be quite sure.
The games will be taking place in October, 2010.The games are just 3 months away from today and still now the venue for games is has to be selected. The deadline for the comppletion of most of the progress was last year while that was extended to March 2010 then to June 2010. The three main projects for these commonwealth games i,e. Jawahar Nehru Stadium, the aquatic complex and the athletes village are also missed last week's target. Around 20 infrastuctures or more than this are due to be finished in delhi before the games would start.
There is too much that is pending and has to be finished but the organizers are praying and keeping their fingers crossed. We also believe that we would be a part of this world wide show and feel pride that we are also a part of this event.

Commonwealth Games Village in Delhi
Delhi is already a world class city in the worlds having many monuments, tall buildings, mass transportation, and highways. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in Delhi is looking after the task of making the area and space for the games. A new modern game village is being built along the banks of Yamuna River. This is costing around USD 230.7 million to the DDA. This money is not only used to make the area for games but also to give a new facelift to the city. This involves the construction of more new roads, then traffic management etc. The area coverage under this village will be 63.5 hectare.
